Hoggard advances to Championship Game
December 22, 2009
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Hoggard shot 83 percent from the floor in the second half and held Wren to just 19 percent shooting after the break in a 57-38 win that put the Vikings in the Championship Game of the Shootout by the Sea in North Myrtle Beach. Hoggard will play Easley for the title on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.
Hoggard (6-2) won despite turning the ball over 22 times. They were able to overcome that with offensive efficiency and stifling defense. They also outrebounded the Hurricanes 36-26.
Stilman White led the Vikings with 22 points, five assists, four rebounds, and three blocks. Lawson Ahrens added 13 points.
Hoggard will try to become the first two-time winner of the Shootout by the Sea. The Vikings won the title in 2006 and defeated Easley in the semifinals on the way to the championship. |
